Overview:

The Mgr Provider & Payor Relations is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with self-funded employers and/or their third party administrators on the benefits and contractual obligations under the Health Services Agreement with Mercy. Routinely obtains feedback with currently contracted self-funded employers to discuss any issues that may come up regarding the relationship between the employer, employers health plan and beneficiaries and St. Johns Provider network. Build new relationships with self-funded employers in assigned service area who are not affiliated with Mercy to discuss contracting with the employer to be preferred providers for their employee health plan.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Three years managed care or health care experience
  • Required Education: Bachelors degree in business, healthcare administration or other related field
  • Other: Understand the healthcare setting, medical terminology and/or managed care benefits and industry desired. Familiarity with medical coding is desired. Requires a highly self-motivated and independent worker who is able to develop and keep own schedule, is able to prioritize assignments and design programs to meet the needs of individual groups and/or offices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to design tools which will be useful in educating office staffs and physicians on issues related to managed care. Excel and Access knowledge desired.Must be able to travel within a defined service area.
